A single mom, who is damaged. A Navy SEAL, who has a heart of gold. It’s a romance-tinged story about the perils of careless pleasure. It kicks off near the beach with someone in the middle of some intense alcohol therapy. (Note that: this story will span two decades.) And there’s a twist! One of the protagonists has a child.

Eight years later…

Joshua

I was up before 4:00 am. Before my alarm. I was sure I heard the doorbell. Or did I dream that? No. There it is again.

But who would be ringing my doorbell so early in the morning? Dave. But he has a key!

Then I heard it. Wailing. Crying. Wait! Is that a baby?

Now fully awake I pulled my hand roughly over my face groaning through my frustration.

I glanced at the clock again as I pulled my pajama bottoms on and dragged myself toward the front door

The crying got louder. Wait! Are they in my house? As I turned the corner I saw Dave. A baby in both arms. A shit-eating grin on his face.

Arms over my chest I leaned against the wall and blinked several times at the scene before me.

I knew I was going to regret it but I had to ask

“Where did you get those”?
